Parish Groups

Prayer Partners

During Advent, and again between Ascension and Pentecost, St Mahew's has a prayer link with members of the local Church of Scotland.  With a partner or partners, the group follow the liturgical readings of the day and a variety of reflections and prayers.  These are based partly on a desire for Christian Unity, but also focus on matters of general current concern and those of particular importance to members of the group.  Some members choose to contact each other by phone, but  there is no need to meet up, or to attend a church service.  This aspect enables people who have a busy lifestyle, or those who are housebound, to play an active part.

Support for the Helensburgh and Lomond Foodbank

The Foodbank provides assistance, without need for a referral,  to people in the following areas: Ardlui, Arrochar, Cardross, Clynder, Cove, Garelochhead, Helensburgh, Kilcreggan, Luss, Rhu, Rosneath and Tarbet.  (Our nearest distribution point is at the Red Cross Hall, 116 East Princes Street, Helensburgh, on Monday and Friday mornings from 10-00am to 12 noon.)  At St. Mahew's we have a box in the porch once a month to receive any food items to be donated.
